Reflection
Written in the rubble of Jerusalem, this is not optimism from a comfortable place. It is a decision to remember God's character when circumstances say otherwise. Mercy arrives daily, like manna — enough for today.
Context
Lamentations is a set of five poems grieving the fall of Jerusalem in 587 BC. This line sits at the exact centre of the book.
A prayer for today
Faithful God, thank you that your mercy did not run out yesterday. Give me enough for today. Amen.
